AROSE-OD (A Running On Sight Expert Assistant - Obstacle Detection) is an auxiliary system which allows automatic obstacle detection and maximum speed control on running at sight trains.
The system can:
- detect railway obstacoles, within the sensor optical range. Detection is possible before danger identification by the driving staff;
- control the maximum allowed speed while running at sight, which is determined by the train path characteristics and may be manually or automatically imposed.
Obstacle detection is obtained by the means of a radar sensor, and is focused on railway-related obstacles, as cars located along the train path.
